# Create business schedules

> Business schedules allows your organization to specify their operating business hours for their Kustomer platform.

Business schedules allow your organization to specify operating business hours for their Kustomer platform. With business schedules, you can more accurately measure SLA and reporting metrics. Business schedules can also be used in automations to perform different functions depending on whether a customer contacts you during or after your support hours.

### Business schedule limits

You can create up to **50** individual business schedules for the regions where you provide customer support.

### Create a business schedule

Anyone with the necessary permissions can create and edit a business schedule.

**To create a business schedule:**

1.  Go to **Settings ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/602e4e6bfb1827faf414fac26aff3ea7.png)** > **Administration** > **Business Schedules**.
2.  Select **Add Schedule**.
3.  Enter a schedule name.
4.  Select the timezone for the region this schedule represents. Business hours are evaluated in this timezone, so use separate schedules for regions that operate in different time zones.
5.  Select **Add**.
6.  Configure working hours for each day. Closed days should have no hours.
7.  Select **Save Changes**.
8.  Return to the Business Schedules page and choose a **Default Schedule** if this schedule should be used when no specific schedule is selected.

    **Note:** If you do not select a unique business schedule, the default 24-hour a day, 7-day a week schedule will be used. 
    

**To edit a business schedule:**

1.  From the Business Schedules page, select **Edit** ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/1eef5da6900e599cc792697cb7b99891.png)for the schedule you wish to edit.
2.  Make your desired changes to the schedule.
3.  Select **Save Changes**.

**To make a copy of a business schedule:**

1.  From the Business Schedules page, select **More Options ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/e1704932e7f35668ac55565a686e7653.png)** for the schedule you wish to duplicate.
2.  Select **Duplicate** from the drop-down menu.  
    A copy of the schedule will appear under the original one.

**To delete a business schedule:**

1.  From the Business Schedules page, select **More Options ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/d137ac80730c3e4092edc712222e8740.png)** for the schedule you wish to delete.
2.  Select **Delete** from the drop-down menu.
3.  Select **Yes**  to confirm your changes.
4.  You can also select **Edit** ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/1eef5da6900e599cc792697cb7b99891.png) and select **Delete Business Schedule** from the Edit Schedule page.
5.  Select **Delete** again to confirm your changes.

### Schedule multiple regions

Kustomer provides the ability to set the availability of your chat widget for multiple regions. For more information, see [Chat Management: Settings, Business Hours Availability](https://help.kustomer.com/settings-B1sdKbtz7#business-hours-availability).

### Use holiday hours

Holidays override normal business hours for the selected schedule. When a holiday is active, the schedule is treated as closed for the holiday period, and SLA/business-hour calculations exclude that time. Holidays should be created before the date they need to apply.

**Note:** Holidays must be scheduled before the day they need to run. They are also full days and cannot be scheduled for a specific block of time.

**To create a holiday:**

1.  From the Business Schedules page, select **E****dit** ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/c7b2e1e3b6da839a07a98e80a625c93c.png) for the schedule you wish to add holidays.
2.  Go to the **Holidays** tab and select **Add a Holiday**.
3.  Enter the name of the holiday, an optional description, and the dates.
4.  Select **Add**. Your holidays will appear in chronological order.

**To deactivate a holiday:**

1.  Go to the **Holidays** tab in the Business Schedule where the holiday is set.
2.  Turn off the toggle next to the holiday you wish to deactivate.

**To edit a holiday:**

1.  Go to the Holidays tab in the business schedule where the holiday is set.
2.  Select **Edit** ![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/570fad9d9001bc1000163b28/9ea908ea166149385226a91958e7ed4f.png) for the holiday you wish to edit.
3.  Make your changes in the form that opens.
4.  Select **Update**.

**To delete a holiday:**

1.  Go to the Holidays tab in the business schedule where the holiday is set.
2.  Select the delete icon for the holiday you wish to delete.
3.  Select **Yes** to confirm the deletion.

### Setting chat availability 

After creating your business schedule, you may go to your chat settings to have your chat available during specified business hours. ### Use business schedules in workflows

Business schedules can be referenced in workflows to determine whether an event happened during working hours. Use `/#fn:inBusinessHours` with an optional date and optional business schedule ID. If no date is provided, Kustomer checks the current time. If no schedule ID is provided, Kustomer uses the organization’s default schedule.
